Specialized schools train many of the future technicians, health-care workers, journalists and more in France.

More than 3,000 public and private educational institutions, known as écoles spécialisées, extend the French higher education system into areas such as hospitality, culinary arts, toursim, multimedia, animation, video games, photography, the performing arts, communication, journalism, fashion and design.

These institutions offer government-accredited degrees as well as other credentials, and programs are two to five years in length.
